Who We Are / What We Do @ the V. F. W. Post 3494

Welcome to the Official Site of the VFW Post 3494 in Mansfield, Ohio. We are excited to share with you many new features that our web site will bring to visitors.

    What we will do for you!

  • Fight to protect your rights and work hard on the local level to make your tours easier.

     What we have done!

  • Fought for hardship pay for Joint Task Force Personnel Full-Accounting

  • sent more than 100,00- care packages to overseas service members during the Gulf War; and

  • provided prepaid telephone cards to active-duty troops and hospitalized veterans via VFW's Operation Uplink.




The VFW was founded in June of 1936 for the men. The Women's Auxiliary came along ten years later in 1946.

Our VFW 3494 boast to be the oldest post in Richland County. We have also received state and national recognition for membership.

Our home of 853 Ashland Road in Mansfield is where we have resided since 1953. Through the years we have made several improvements to the facility and have a wonderful hall that is available for rent.

There are over 100,000 VFW members in the state of Ohio with 290 of them being with Post 3494. Our life members make up 208 of those.
